In August 2023, I got together with Glen Cowsill, a friend from the Chiswick Canoe Club for an amiable paddle round the coast of South East England.  We started at Seaford in East Sussex and ended up at Chiswick in West London.

The coast is ever varied and is steeped in history. Stories and remnants abound from the Romans to the Norman invasion, to still living reminiscences of dog fights and bomb testing the second world war.

 Dai’s account is written in his own voice and is mainly light hearted, describing the daily journeys and the folk they met along the way. There is enough historical information in it to give the places context as well as the occasional rant or two to keep things grounded!
